Who is the National Association of Wheat Weavers |
|||
The National Association of Wheat Weavers Incorporated in 1987, we are a non-profit organization that brings together all those interested in the Straw Arts. Our objective is to: educate, develop, and promote all forms of straw artistry. We have members from across the United States and many International members from Canada, Europe and as far away as Belarus. Although we are mostly a group of women, we do include quite a few men who work with straw. There are 3 Membership Districts within the USA: Eastern, Central, and Western. Those members living outside the USA are classified as International members. Many International members become involved by teaching and submitting articles to Gleanings. Gleanings is the magazine of NAWW. As a member you will receive 4 issues a year. We also meet yearly at a National Convention. The convention is held in a different district each year. (See pictures from the 2005 and 2006 conventions.) At Conventions there are workshops, a straw art show, organized trips, and we join together for special meals and entertainment. Convention is a great time to meet old friends and make new ones! |

| Our Structure We have a President and a Board of Directors. In each District there are two Directors who are the first point of contact for members. We also have two Vice-Presidents: First VP is our Membership Chair and the Second VP is our Ways and Means Chair. The Secretary and Treasurer complete the Board of Directors. (See the next page for our Board of Directors.) |
