Memorial Fund

The NAWW Memorial Fund

In 2003, a fund was set-up to honor the memory of members and loved ones.

The fund's objectives are to increase the knowledge of straw art and to encourage new members to develop their skills.

The fund supports the work of NAWW. The fund also provides Scholarships which enables members of NAWW to attend the  National Convention.  Scholarships are for members who are first time convention attendees.

At the 2004 convention, two Scholarships were given, in 2005 three were given. In 2006 we were delighted to award six scholarships.

The Scholarship covers the cost of the NAWW Convention fee and allows the Member to attend up to four regular classes.

At the last Convention, the Memorial Fund Committee decided to expand their activities.  Watch this site, and look in Gleanings for updates. If you are a NAWW member and have a suggestion to develop the scope of the fund, please contact the Committee.

Past Activities

At the last two Conventions, Members have donated a piece of their work, or supplies, and Convention workshop teachers have donated their class project for a Silent Auction to support the Fund.

In 2005 we had a very special event. The family of DeAnn Stephens generously donated several hats from her collection so they could be auctioned to raise money for the Fund.
